Reflection of Rubric

This is the first time I late to make a reflection for PETA course. I really shy because of that and it’s because I procrastinate to make it.  Actually, I want to make it in Friday, but I think I can do it Sunday after back from Bogor. At the end I did not do it because last night I really tired and sleeping long time. I'm sorry because of that.

Lask week in class PETA I did the reflection about our rubric that we made. Some of our rubric can use to assess  the performance from our friends, but some of them not appropriate with their performance. There are any criteria that we can not assess. Our criteria in rubric does not appear in their performance and some of their activity did not written in our criteria, so it make me confuse how to give score. After that Miss Mima give to us feedback how to make it better.

I think rubric is important because it can be guidence for me to assess my students and make me objectively to give score.  When I was in Senior High School my teacher did not make a rubric for our performance whereas it is useful for him to assess. When s(he) did not use rubric, it make they subjectively to give score. So, sometimes I did not want to perform at the end because my teacher was tired, bored, and not focus to my perform. It will be influence to my score.

So, as a teacher we have to make a rubric for our teaching and learning in the classroom. This class give me many knowledge to make class affecrive in the class. Thank for all, hopefully we can  apply when we become a teacher.

Reflecton 15

This is My Reflection for PETA

Last meeting, we just review about lesson plan that made by all group in section A. What's work? What doesn't work? and what are things that we must improve form our lesson plan? Just like my last reflection. And in that day, we made a lesson plan for micro teaching in the next final exam. And I had difficulties to make a lesson plan that will we used just 25 minutes role play. And another difficulty that I meet are making a rubric assessment and makes my lesson plan in English actually.

But I hope that I can make it perfectly that just from my side. I don't think that all of you will have same think with me. I knew that be a teacher is not an easy job. Just one little part of teacher jobs, like make a lesson plan is difficult. If the lesson plan isn't function able, so the teaching and learning process will be disorganized. I hope in micro teaching, I can do the best for my performance, lesson plan, and gesture when I presentation will be good.

Try to Make Better

          When we confused is a process to create and think something. Do you agree? It’s my felling, when I should made rubric. Rubric is only one of tools to assess our students, but to make rubric is really not easy. Because we should prepare many aspects, what we assess? What the point? What the criteria? And don’t forget to observe of effectiveness by the rubric.

          Last week I got much knowledge by our beautiful lecture in SSE, Bu Mima. I learn how to make good rubric and effective. After that, the time has come, I should become a teacher. But in this case I should practice team teaching for final exam.

          I think why we learn PETA, and etc. the goals is to become a new generation of teacher. I’m really interesting do team teaching, because team teaching is like a tester from some product. So team teaching in PETA final exam to me it’s like trial to make me better.

          Now, it’s time to going to show our performance when we become a really teacher.  But don’t forget we should be well prepare and do the best for our students. I think i can do that, because our teachers gave me many knowledge, experiment, and also push me to don’t tired to try. I believe when we try, try, and try. It is make me better. So let’s keep spirit to our team teaching, i hope we are can do the best ok ^_^.

Rubric 2

         At this time PETA meeting, we discussed about the rubric. I have recently learned that rubric consists of holistic and analytic rubric. Although I know the type of rubric that I use, but only I still had difficulty in making a rubric, especially at the stage of determining the criteria. At the moment we are discussing the issue of criteria, there are some criteria from the rubric of our group who can not work properly. That's because there are a few things, especially the value of which I will not know what the criteria contained in the rubric. For that reason, the parties appear what it is. Perhaps, if the party which will be assessed to know the kinds of criteria will be assessed, they will display criteria. Thus, the rubric will be used well.
        At the last meeting, I have little conception of a holistic rubric and analytic rubric. Can anyone explain to me?

sofi reflection about rubric and preparation micro teaching

Monday, at the time of the PETA courses I am glad because we discuss and evaluate the rubric we make the previous week. In the rubric I, Daz and Mamet created, there are some parts which are working well and things are not working. The point is the category with criteria and point- point on that parts was not able to cover all the point- point which should be assessed. Well, that’s why we have to test the rubric we wear that all parts that we want to get value everything. From the rubric we make parts that can work well is opening, content and media while the presentation and closing category can’t work properly. From evaluation rubric this this week I become more familiar in making rubric. As a teacher candidates we strongly need the ability to make precise rubrics as this will graetly affect the values that we give to our students. A good rubric is a rubric that can expalin the point- point assessment in detail and clearly. And tips to make the rubric is start from big points.

Well, I think is so fun when we are given the opportunity to create a lesson plan for UAS. Yeah, me and Maria will collaborate and had to fight hard and compact in this task.Hmmmm..but unfortunately the time provided for the micro teaching only about 25 minutes. Yeah, me and Maria would be best to use the time well. Sure we can :)

Still about Rubrics

            We have known that rubric is an authentic assessment tool.

Last week, we were still talking about rubrics, before that we tried to implement our rubrics to our friends’ microteaching. We measured the effectiveness of our rubrics. In fact, my team rubrics still have some weakness, such as there is an activity which we couldn’t assess with our rubrics. That was also happen in other team, that’s why our rubrics haven’t score that is almost same. Our range is still so far, so it was detect that there are some criteria which can’t apply well.

                Actually, Bu Mima also said that making rubrics is difficult, especially in designing the criteria, we have to depend on students’ need.   Even though, making rubrics is difficult but that’s not mean that it is impossible, we have to try and try, it will make we improve our capabilities when making rubrics, PRACTICE makes PERFECT.
