Last week in the class PETA we learn about rubric
assessment. How to assess student and make a rubric is. To learn it we divide
into group of four and each person drew an animal on the paper. After that we put it on the wall. We did
Gallery Work, so each group move from first place to other place. Then, each
group chose 3 the winner that have good drew with the reason why we chose it
is. Most of us have the same for the
first winner, but 2nd and 3rd different people.
We have to make the reason that objective from the
winner, we chose them because the picture similar with the example picture,
there is gradation, the picture has proportional figure of the body and has a
background. Each group wrote their reason on the flip chart and put it on the
wall, but some of us have same reason. Unfortunately, to be a good person in
give score is not easy. We still do it subjective. We chose the winner because
the picture has beautiful, similar with the example, get the goals, etc.
After this activity, we know that to make a rubric is not
easy. We have to find the character of the rubric that related to the
assessment. In the rubric there is a stage of score for each step that the students
achieve. Rubric helps us to get the score as objective person, so did not do
subjective. As a teacher, we have to fair to give score for the students. If
the student asks to us why they get the good or bad score we can explain to
them or for the transparency activity we can give to them the rubric of their assessment
as a lecturer in SSE.
In my conclusion are we had to make a rubric together
with the assessment because rubric help us to give score objectively and make a
rubric objectively is not easy, so we have to prepare it long time before we
give assessment to the students.
