haryo'reflection

Day by day, studying in peta course getting interesting. This week I learnt something that important in teaching and learning process.

Most of all students in the class agree that teacher has to asess students objectively, but I’am not. I have a question, is objectivity always be the best in asessment? As we know that nowadays, Indonesian education includes character education in its curriculum. character is something that related with people’s personality. My question is, how to asess our students’s character? Should we asess it objectively?

For instance, if teacher input ‘honesty’ in their lesson plan, but their students caught cheatting in the exam. As we know that cheatting is one example of dishonesty. So, even their score is good, should we give a good score, or we reduce their score because of their bad attitude? If we chose the second one, it means that subjectivity is needed to asess our students.

All of all, asessment is not as easy as imagined.

  1. Good reflection and question haryo... :)
I think the character of students in the assessment of the value students ' affective. Where value is the value of students affective character of students and student scuba lessons lasting attitude. And it's usually a letter grade ranging from A to e. And the student's own existing rapot his column.

  2. i have some opinion with you. i think we should use subjective but don't much may be only 10 percent from 100 percent assessment. the 10 percent is subjective for assess students behaviour, attitude, and moral. but the resulot not score, may be only suggestion to make better moral. do you agree with my opinion?
