My reflection for week 11

What is yours?
Is Subjective or objective?

Let’s talk about assessment. Actually I didn’t know how the ways to assess are but in the first time I knew it when I joined in the Educational Psychology class. In that class, I and all my friends must assessed some poster from others group. And because it’s too difficult to make a decision what thing that I must assess, so I just used my feeling to assess it. Actually I knew that it does will be not fair because I knew that I just had two choices, like or didn’t like. That’s simple but it’s in the wrong way. My lecture said if we, students, must assess in an objective manner not subjective. I knew it but not deeply. And I’m so lucky could joined in PETA’s class last Monday because I learned how to prepare our assessment to keep our objective ways.
Why did we must assess in an objective manner, that’s because it will be fairer to all students. If we assess in an objective manner, all student will have the same categories to be assessed. But we must remember one thing, we didn’t assess just when they do the task but we assess the students all times in the teaching and learning process to know how they understand the material.
So start from now, ask yourself what is your type of assess. If you’re subjective so let’s improve yourself to being objective.

Thank you for riding my reflection,.

  1. everything need process..
i have same perception with you ..
i think that assessing is difficult and confusing.
i hope that we can develop our knowledge about assessing well and we can implement that when we become a teacher.

  3. Well, I will be trying to be the objective one.
Subjectivity perhaps happens in my next teaching experience, but I will try.
