Become an Objective Teacher is not Easy

                      Last week, we have learned about assessment. We learned how to assess students objectively. For a long time, I think that assess the other people will be easy but I was wrong. I need rubric, it will be help me to assess my students later. Last week my lecture asked me to assess my friend’s picture. She did not give me rubric and criteria to assess them. Honestly, I was confused.

                      I had bad experienced about mathematics score. When I was X-grade, I seldom got score in mathematics course. Although I wrote my answer until three pages of paper, my teacher just gave me a line (coretan). It means that all of my answer wrong. She also never gave me notes about my weakness. Actually, I understand about the material. Usually I just make mistakes when I calculate the number. However, my teacher never appreciates it.

                      I do not agree with my teacher’s way to assess her students. I think that it will be make students frustration. Students feel that their teacher has not appreciates their works. In my opinion, teachers have to look student’s works, why they can get the wrong answer. Teachers have a look the processes not only look on student’s result.

                      Become an objective teacher is not easy. I have to make rubric for each activities that we have made. Make a rubric is not easy too. I have to be wise to decide what are criteria that will be I use in my rubric.
