"Make someone to understand about something, especially mathematics deeply" that is my job as the next generation of mathematics teacher and how lucky I am, I have to study PETA (Principle of Effective Teaching Assessment) in my third semester.
At PETA first class, I remember my lecturer ask "what is first you want to be?" and I said "doctor, but now I want to be a teacher because it turns out teaching is not easy and it so fun" . Then, my friend named Annas Bentari said "may doctor can make a practicum in the lab, so do teachers. They can make many practicums in their class everyday". After that, deep down in my heart I feel "wow, in the first class PETA my passion to be a teacher is increase! What will happen in the second or the next class?".
After discuss about what will my friends and I first want to be, we learn about an effective teacher. Effective teacher is a teacher who well prepared before teaching, know their students, do not underestimate the students, friendly, understand the topic, not authoritarian, use variant of teaching method and so on. Based on my experience, I agree with that and remember my mathematics teacher in my senior high school, I dislike her and I do not want to be like her because she is rarely came to class and so authoritarian, when she taught me she didn't give a permit to hold a pen, I should be faces and eyes on her. She ever underestimate me when I want register SSE selection but my chemical teacher always support me and ready to take her time to teach me, she is my favorite teacher because she is careful, patient and do not underestimate me, she believe that I can.

On the characteristics of effective teacher, my attention also was fixed on "well prepared and use variant teaching method" because it makes me remember the lesson plan and in lesson plan there is a teaching method what will I use in the class. At my campus, when I saw my many lecturers teach me in the class I feel their ways to teach so different and creative like use blog, study calculus through proposal, role play and so on , I know its' not easy. I always think can I make a new way of teaching mathematics creatively like them? I hope so and I believe PETA can help me to reach that.

ReplyDeleteWooww, there is my clear name, right. what I said was so really unintentionally. However, I do agree that everyday we need to improve our teaching style to a better style. Fun, Interesting, and effective.
