Yeah..!! Finally, this is the last meeting in Peta’s class before my friend and I must doing teaching assistant. In that meeting, I learned about microteaching that used models of instruction. It was really helped me as a teacher, because I got many suggestions to teach in the class. In Peta’s class, my friends and I tried practice to teach using models of instruction in a group. From there, I could know how to teach using models of interaction.
In the middle of meeting, my friend asked “How to handle student who ask about the material that has never taught?” and then, I thought how can I do? Mrs. Mima and other friends answered it. There are some students called fast learner. Usually they can more quickly understand than the other students. As a teacher, I can not blame those students. I can not saying “We have not learn that material, so don’t ask it”. The solution if I meet like that, I must answer that question but not too much. At least they got the answered without make the other students confused about their question. Yupp!! I got new knowledge again about handle students that fast learner.
As a new generation of teacher, I have to prepare all. Not only preparing material and lesson plan. But I have to prepare about handle every characteristic’s students J

how about the low learner? what will you do if they ask you to explain more, more, more because they don't understand? What will you do except give them extra time outside the class??

Hmm.. I think that by studying in group the low-learner may be much more able to understand the material that she would never understand if the teacher are delivering. Maybe if his friend who explains and helps him in understanding the material that he feel difficult to understand will be much easier for him. And that certainly in the group, we combine among low learner and fast learner.

ReplyDeleteyaa, we must to have awareness to our students and try to handle all unexpected situation in class.
mamet: good question met,, I thing we can give students extra-time out of class or let them do exercise in group so students who understand can help another students, or do TGT :), it is one of benefits in group work or group discussion . Just try to do the best thing for our students :)
