Haryo ganteng's 5th reflection

Yeay! Back to campus, get ready for busiest day in my life. 2 weeks I have been through as a real teacher in a real school. And last Monday was the sharing session. PETA class talked about our experience when did teaching assistant.
He said that, she said that, he said so, and so on. My friends had very great experiences. And how about me? Well, I have one important thing that I got from previous teaching assistantship. “Preparation”. Sounds trivial, but trust me, it’s very important if you want to be a teacher. Preparation not only about how we master the content, but also the whole thing that will we use in teaching and learning process. Something bad could be occurred anytime, like what I experienced in teaching assistant. All of the materials have been prepared in the night before those “disaster” occurred, actually. But there is only the group worksheet that hasn’t been printed. I thought that was okay, because I could print it tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, there was no time for me to print the worksheet because I had to teach at 6.30, not 11.15 like what have printed in my schedule.

Everything that have been prepared to be useless. PowerPoint presentation, movie, and others material that has been prepared very well became no more than rubbish. Why? Yeah, because something bad could be occurred anytime.

That experience made me feel that do not underestimate the slightest preparation. Remember “disaster” could come to everyone.

A good preparation is needed when you want to teach, because we do not know what will happen in the next day. Therefore, we must prepare everything carefully....

actually your reflection similar with my partner's experience, more than disaster i think, until they chancel their teaching schedule that time. so, This is our experience and from that we got more information about how to teach in real class. Thanks you
