Why do you want to be a teacher? It is not quite easy, guys!
After the lesson of PETA on Monday 19th September 2011, I have known that become a good teacher is challenging. There are many part that have to concern such as to be effective teacher for making a effective teaching and learning. Nowdays, many teachers who do not pay attention to their assignment for teaching. For example, teacher is not only about how to teach as good as she can but also how to make the students active in the class, how to make effective teaching and how to create a creative lesson plan. Some of teachers do not concern about them. They only think that if they delivered the material, it is enough. I hope after I study PETA, I can know more about be effective teacher.
Everyone has favorite teacher, has not it? Can we say that favorite teacher is a effective teacher? For example, I have 2 favorite teacher in senior high school. The first teacher’ name is Mrs. A. She teaches mathematics, actually, I did not like her teaching method, because, she only said with whiteboard and writing during the class, just sometimes she explained. but I love her, because she is very patient to teach her students who do not understand yet. And then also she is happy to give additional time for learning outside the classroom. The second teacher’ name is Mr. B. He teaches biology. I love him so. I like every teaching method that he did. Only one that I did not like, he always think that all of students understand what did he say. And then also sometimes he underestimate the students if they do not understand and can not answer his questions. Based on my experiences, actually we can see that teacher is only ordinary people who can make mistakes and have defective. So, can we say that favorite teacher is effective teacher?

I think that not all of favourite teacher is effective teacher also.
ReplyDeletemay be some of part in the favourite teacher including one of characteristics of effective teacher.For example : The teacher to be a favourite teacher because of the teacher have a good personality like humorous, patient, understanding the students etc.
But it doesn't mean that the teacher is effective teacher because still many others characteristics that the teacher must have like well preparation,creative,objective etc.
That's my opinion ^_^

Your experience same like me,di. :) My math teacher just write in the white board and explain it. But he is very patient when teach his student who don't understand the topic until his student understand. Not all of teacher can be patient to their student and especially in Mathematics subject.

Yup, to be a teacher is more challenging. Just like what you said, many teacher do not care about their teaching method. So how can they can be an effective teacher if they won't to learn how the way to be a effective teacher and if they always thought that their teaching method is fine.

I also have a teacher who use violence but he's my favorite teacher
