IT’S A LITTLE PART OF TEACHERS

What do you think about effective and ineffective teachers?

I studied about it in the Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment (PETA) class before. And then I knew that some of Indonesian teachers had lost their capability to be an effective teacher.

OK, let’s remember about our teacher in elementary, junior, or high school. I think that we must found some of them who were ineffective teachers. Just for example, a teacher didn’t prepare their material well and he/ she didn’t respect to their student. That’s just a little thing about an effective teachers and there are still many characteristic an effective teachers.

So, how are about effective teachers? They could be fun teachers (maybe) for their students. Characteristic of effective teacher are like well-prepared, creative, objective, good personality, and understanding their student.

But it’s any five major themes of effective and ineffective teachers:
1. Emotional environment
2. Teacher skill
3. Teacher Motivation
4. Student Participation
5. Rules and grades

I just know it and I think that PETA class will be fun and interesting for me. Why? because at PETA class, I can study about how to be an effective and fun teacher and it will be useful when I’m being a teacher in the future.

This things just a little part from all about teachers.

    Ya.. I hope we can to be an effective teacher. I think the characteristic is a unity. We must have all of the characteristic to be an effective teacher. I have watched a film, there is a teacher who have very good personality then she is very understanding her students but the students only like her personality but when she is teaching the students have no respect to her. Then I think she can to be a great teacher but she must learn how to manage the lesson to be interesting so, the students will pay attention to her. So, I think we must have all the characteristic of effective teacher. If now we haven't all then we can learn little by little

    A good reflection mba dyah :)
    I think that many teachers still have not awareness for the factors that can influence their student achievement in the class.
    It is our job to be effective teacher and make effective teaching and learning.

    yeah, to be an effective teacher many things must be considered when teaching. And as you said above that some of Indonesian teachers had lost their capability to be an effective teacher, now in PETA course I think, we can study about effective teacher so that we can make changes on the assumption above was not correct. Together we can make a different for Indonesian Teachers first, friends...Thanks

    well, i like this one. that i want to discuss is about 'fun teacher', does IT mean he/she is an effective teacher.
    Based on my experience, i had a 'strict' math teacher, but i understood all what she explained about.
    so what do you guys think?

    Hemm so it depends on us. I also had a strict math teacher. At first, I didn't understand her explanation, and then I tried to love way in teaching, finally I succeed to understand her. Why I had to understand her? Why she did not try to understand her students? At that time, my answer is "the important one, I got her knowledge". But for me as a teacher candidate, I have to understand my students, and they have to understand me too. Balancing is needed! :D

    I had a strict math teacher too. He always give quizzes before Math class start. My teacher come to class composedly, and then he explain the material. Do you know? the exercises are more than the material. So the student can understand the material in-depth. I love his teaching method.
    But I think that I must be better than my favorite teacher.

    yup, I think you can be the one of fun teacher from SSE. But I must study hardly to be like you hahahhaha.

    We have the same problem in English but you had a communication skill that is better than me. I always ashame if I must make my English because I had worse skill than others.

    But if I was in a pinch, I think that I can do that although my English is wrong. hehehehheh

    But don't forget to always practice our English to be better than now...
