An Educator or a Teacher?

PETA, am I going to learn more about a map? Geography?

That was what I thought before having this course on last Monday. And the fact it was not. It was more and will be more complicated rather than reading a map. In reading a map, the only thing we have to do is understanding how to read the scale, knowing the region, city or country. Otherwise, in learning PETA, we have to be more understanding not a piece of paper but a human being, our students even our self as their teacher.

When my lecturer asked the class who wanted to be a teacher, I did not even raise my hand twice when the second question appeared as who inspired to be a teacher by this college. I just noticed that, teacher is someone who teaches a group of people in the class or somewhere. And as we can see nowadays not all of the teacher at school are not well-dedicated to the job. Who I want to be? I want to be an educator. What I have been thinking is an educator is not always a teacher. It could be everybody, even a beggar on the street or a  mute person.

I love seeing all my previous teacher in my primary and secondary school. The way of their teaching, their characteristic, and their ability to make close relation with their students in different ways. Some that I hated and also some that I liked. The most quotes that I still remember until now is “You are learning not to get score, but knowledge” and I got it from my Biology teacher who absolutely never dream about becoming a teacher, but she said, “I am an educator.”

But, you know everybody could be an educator, but only those who have great personality could be a great teacher. And I know that all my friends in this college could be a great teacher.

So, one day in the future, I will be an educator who can make differences.

  1. Great reflection.
I do really like your reflection. Something I'd never imagined between a teacher and educator, but you did it. Even I didn't know what the differences between the teacher and the educator ? Firstly, the teacher and educator is the same I think. However after I read your reflection, I open my mind and think about it. Good job :D

if not wrong, you also liked the teacher because the teacher can motivate the students including you.

    That's good teacher Put,
    and Fantastic reflection

  6. I like your reflection..
yaa,, "you are learning not to get score, but knowladge",
but science is often measured by the value obtained, mostly in the country we use to measure the value of graduation.
    How to alter that view?
