Effective Teacher In My Mind

In the third semester, I get PETA (Principles of Effectiveness Teaching and Assessment) as my course. First time I don’t know too much about this course. Then in my first class, my lecturer introduces her name. Ms. Mima that’s her name, I like the way she teach, that’s fun and interesting.
Who’s inspired me to be a teacher? That’s a first question to start the topic “effective and ineffective teacher”.    Honestly being a teacher is not my destination. I want to be a doctor actually. Then my mom change it. She doesn’t force me to be a teacher, never ! I just see how she work with it.
I think effective teacher is a teacher that creative, smart, respect their student. Creative is how teacher can mix all methods to teaching become interesting. Smart is teacher’s ability to mastering the materials. Respect their students, it means teacher should respect how students learn.
I have ever met an ineffective teacher in my school. She taught mathematics, my favorite lesson. She is smart, and has a good ability to teach mathematics. But she always forces her students in bad way. She often labeling her students, comparing one student with another. It’s really hurt when the teacher doesn’t have a good personality, and cannot respect how their students learn.
I think learn is not about the result, it’s about how the students follow the process and get they growing become a better person everyday. It remind me not to comparing my students when im a teacher. It’ll be better if we compare their achievement before and after the students learn.
I hope this course can make me knowing more and more about how to be an effective teacher, so my students will not get a bad experience with learning.

  2. You had same problem with me. Actually I didn't want to be a teacher. Just because some of my family member are a teacher. My father ask me to be a teacher, but I always said "NO". And then, I am be a student of SSE. You know what's the mean? Yeah I hope that I can be a real next generation of affective teacher. But I must study hardly....
