What is your model of Instruction when you teach your students in the class? Let’s share our knowledge.
I had learned four of instruction models to teach after PETAs’ Class last Monday at October 3rd, 2011. They are:
Direct Instruction is similar with Teacher Center Learning (TCL). In this model, student do not need active in interaction with others student or teacher. Teachers want to apply scaffolding system, so their students must evolve their own concepts. Purpose of the instruction model achieve student learning.
Lecture-Discussion is used to give knowledge for the student systematically. This model of instruction will help the student to understand the topic. This is the Lecture-Discussion Phases:
Guided Discovery is similar with Student Center Learning (SCL). In this model, students must be active and must interact with other students in the class or environment. These models could make their student learn from their own experience. As usual, teacher is doing approach like problem based learning, group discussion and others. From this way, student can learn effectively, but teacher always be a guide for the student to make student do not misconceptions.
Group Interaction is like Group Discussion. Students discuss in a group and they can learn from other students, and like Guided Discovery, teacher always be a guide for their students.
After we know about four of interaction models, we must know that we can mix some of this instruction models when we teach our students. But we must know when we must used some of models to our strategy in teaching. It based on our Lesson Plan, and our purpose to achieve learning process.
Actually I didn’t attend the class until finish so just present this reflection. We know that we must learn hardly about instruction models to help our strategy in teaching learning.
Thank you so much for you, that already red my reflection.
