The Teaching

            I said ‘wow’ when I was watching a video about a teacher taught the first grade students. It seemed really funny, because I was laughing frequently when I saw the reaction of the students in the class and the voice of the teacher. Suddenly, I realized that it as not easy at all. Being a teacher in the primary school is harder than teaching in the high school. The teachers in the primary school need to teach the students from the basic and should remembering them about the materials.

            The funny thing about PETA class on that day was we criticize the teacher what was not so effective about her teaching style. I thought she was good. She did her best to teach on that day but I did not know whether she did that everyday or only in front of the camera. But, I was glad watching someone who dedicated her life for teaching. I hope I could do the same in the future.

            I liked the first impression of Mrs. Mimas’ class. We did something fun and I always wanted to do fun teaching and learning with movements. The best thing on last Monday was the video. I could learn and reflect from the video and I could prepare myself for the next school experience. The video showed me how active learning being implemented in the class. I was more expecting my lecturer gave me how to teach high school students with active learning rather than saw a bunch of kids were listening a boring story telling.

            Besides the video, I also liked the way my lecturer asked my friends and I about the video. We really learned and reflected on what we have learned before. I also recognized what kind of effective teaching must be implemented in the classroom. One of them was knowing the students’ knowledge and making a different assessment in order to make them unafraid about the score.

            However, I did not like about making the lesson plan. My lecturer only gave me a bunch of minutes to make it. Perhaps it would be more effective if she let the groups made it by themselves out of the class as homework. So, we could make the better one. Because of the time limitation, we were rushed to make it so I thought we would not really recognized what we have made about the lesson plan.

            The conclusion of PETA class last Monday is IT WAS STUNNING! I like the you teach me, MY LECTURER.
