What kind of teaching do you use? (Just call me Ben)

            Wow, what amazing micro teachings! My friends are so amazing. I learned how to deliver a lesson by micro teaching. I know that the micro teaching was still the simple one. However I got new knowledge in teaching mathematics as well. I learned from some groups that did the micro teaching clearly.

            When Dasrizal and his group presented their teaching, I got new fresh method that in teaching we could use an interesting video. In fact, video could be a media that will build the students’ understanding. Video that drawing a real problem to solve will at attract the students’ desire in learning mathematics. Further, on the video, there was a funny song that would energize the students and made them to be interested. Dasrizal and his group also gave a fun teaching where it made the students learning not under pressure.

            Then, that was so interesting when putra and his group took a role as teachers in Islamic school. That was so funny. At that time, I saw putra did a great teaching. He used a tagline to make the students grabbed the attention. Using tagline “anak sholeh”, putra showed me that we need to place the students as subjects not objects only. That’s why, we as teachers need to have any ways to make the class to be effective. We can modify our strategy in teaching so that teaching mathematics will not boring.

            However, I am so proud of my group. Even we didn’t prepare the things well, but we could do the micro teaching creatively. I learned that strategy in teaching like using tagline or video or the others will be more effective when we are able to combine them into teaching by understanding. Concept of the lesson also will be well delivered when the instruction of the teachers can be understood by the students.

            I am so curious about differentiate instruction that Bu Mima explained in the last minutes of the class. What will we learn in differentiated instruction class? Bu Mima just explained a little bit about that. I hope, Bu Mima will continue her explanation about differentiated instruction in the next class. I do love teaching. Even I often get nervous when I have to stand in front of class, but I know that teaching will be an interesting and honor profession.

PETA really teachs us how to be smart in teaching. That is true, isn’t that?
