Micro Teaching in the Class

         Last week in the class PETA we did a micro teaching for all of the students. We divide to six groups and in each group consist of 4 students. That’s enough for the beginning of micro teaching because all of the member group doing the presentation. In my opinion, all of us is very good performance because many models of instruction that we use in micro teaching, it’s wonderful.  I think the students will interesting with the models that we use, but sometimes we forget to understand the students does the students can understand with the way that we use.  Then, at the end in the class Miss. Mima gave advice for us to be better.

          This moment remember me in the last year when I was in school. My teacher teach us using direct instruction, she did the explanation the material in the whiteboard and then gave us the exercise. Then, the next meeting the teacher was using games card. We divide in to group and each group get six cards. In each card consist of question or the answer of the question. The teacher gives the instruction that we have found the pair cards of the question and the solution. Only some of us that really calculate to find the answer then search the card that appropriate with the question. The other of my friend just guess the solution and ask to the teacher it right is.

          At the end of games the teacher did not give the explanation of the solution, just calculate the score of the groups.  So, I think that’s not enough to measure the understanding of the students. Some of the students just dependence to friend who smart. The teacher did not know how the students understand the lesson.

In this case, I can learn more to make the models of instruction did not only fun to students, but can make the student understand and interest to learn. The models of instruction that I use did not only one model, but we can combination to other models of instruction. So, the student did not boring in the class.  :)))
