Is This a Reflection (5)?

Finally
the teaching assistance is over. The experience will not be forgotten. Now,
this is an issue that I want to share while doing the school experience, also
the thing which was discussed in the last session of PETA. The issue is about
media, especially ICT.
When
I was in SMA Santa Theresia, I found my partners in other group used technology
in the classroom. They used Prezi—the zooming presentation. I recognized that
the presentation slide was really cool. There were many colors and animations
which might make students feel interested. However, the usage of this tool was
not really useful. It could be seen since these partners kept writing on the
board while the presentation was being on.
However,
I heard the master teacher’s comment. He told me that actually the planning for
using technology in the class room had been really good. It became not really
useful if the condition was like that. It was the destruction of students’
concentration.
By
that experience, I have learned that whenever we want to use technology in the
classroom, we have to prepare the planning whether we still want to use board
or use the technology itself directly. Hence, if we are wise about this, hope
that it is not becoming the destruction of students’ understanding.
All
in all, I conclude that using ICT in the classroom is good and may be helpful.
The thing that we need to remember is about being wise in using it. J
ICT is a tool to support teaching and learning. it depends on the person who use the tool whether he/she can maximize it usage to teach for understanding or not

ReplyDeleteDear Daz and Maria, I just want to remember you hehhe ICT are not only computer, projector, internet but a pencil and a pen also technology. right?
ReplyDeleteand may be, our next educations is not really good. Why? coz, in my reflection we just use technology. The modern technology. But, especially in SSE why we not learn using traditonal thing, we have culture, we live in Indonesia.And as the next generation of Indonesian people we also must conserve our culture. Remember also we are the next generation of teacher. And then, we are often use flipchart, gluteg and the others what we used until now. Why our lecture not try to use trash (we say we are green teachers, so what the fact?), why not try to use trash or reuse something. For example we can change flipchart by "tanggalan"(Mulyati). Not every day, but may be must try it. One lecture one time it is more better. :) so when we teach next time for example in a place that have not modern technology we are not shock. Ok, just it and thank you Daz. I hope you can understand what I mean hehe
