Wirman's Tenth Reflection

It is time for making reflection of PETA class again after two weeks doing the mid-test J

I want to explain about my reflection of PETA class on last Monday after mid-test weeks.  In that session, we discussed about bloom taxonomy and multiple intelligences. Actually, this topic is really familiar with me because I have learned it in the previous semester; multiple intelligences in Educational Pshycology in the first semester and bloom taxonomy in TPTLM  in  the second semsester, but in PETA class, I got more knowledge about that topic that I have learned it before.
Actually, I am very interested to talk about  the bloom taxonomy here rather than multiple intelligences.

Why?

In the second semester, I knew that bloom taxonomy is used to help teachers to know know  level of complexity of students. Teacher uses bloom taxonomy to make students can get more knowledges by step to step. As we know that bloom taxonomy consist of remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. I will not talk more about that or explain what that means because I know that you guys all know about bloom taxonomy and about the steps itself J

In the previous semester, I just knew that if I am a  teacher and I want to use bloom taxonomy, so I have to make activities that related to ALL steps of bloom taxonomy. But in PETA class on last Monday, I just realized that I do not need  to make activities that related to ALL steps of bloom taxonomy. Teacher may make activities that related to ALL steps of bloom taxonomy, but it is not a MUST.  If you are a teacher, then you think that your students can understand and get the concept well just untill steps of analyzing, so you do not need to give them evaluating and creating.

Why? Because as a teacher, of course that we want our students to understand about the topic that we teach, so do not let students get so many conceps  that can make them confused  and overwhelm about the concept itself. It means as a teacher, we have to know about what kind of concept that they need and they do not need. So, they will not get confused and overwhelm that can destroy their mind and their focus in learning process.

I realize that in SSE I got so many teaching methods to be used to make students active in the class and can understand about the concept, but I have to know what kind of teaching methods that appropriate for my students and do not let them get so many concepts that can make them confused J

I am still trying to know all about how to be a good teacher. I will always do my best eventhough I know that it is not that easy. Let’s make a difference as the new generation of teacher. Keep learning guys  J

  2. I don't know if I'm wrong but I think bloom taxonomy isn't about the way you deliver the concept but how you assess them. So, it's not a problem to make it until evaluation but students should reach until analyzing for example but the outlier one can get it more than analyzing....
