School Experience

On Monday 31, October 2011, I shared anything with my friends about school experinece 2 weeks ago. School experience became unforgottable moments for me. There were many things that I can reflect as teacher candidate. In the first week, I shocked when I saw the girl student said unapproriate thing to her teacher. I was more shocking when the teacher gave his smile after he hear that and said unappropriate words, too. I just thought it was not polite and still thinking why the teacher’ response just like that. From that situation, I thought that how amazing habits of teachers influence their students. I realized that it was not quite easy to be a good teacher with good habits. But there is not a reason to say impolite words to our students.

From school experience, I realized that I am as a teacher candidate should be listener for my students. Some of mathematics contents are difficult, so I have to think creatively to make class still fun. And then also, I have to concern about my students’ feeling and listen what they want. Because, I thought that if the teacher gives time to the students to determine the learning process in classroom, they will happy to learn and feel valued by their teacher. Because, the purpose of learning itself would be perceived by the students, so the teacher only become facilitator and supervisor learning process.

Not only that, but the teacher should be able to grab the students’ attention. Because, when the learning process is happening, some of students don’t pay attention and they play with their friends. The assignment for me, as teacher candidate is how to make fun learning but the content still deliver clearly. For this problem, the teacher should be able to choose the right method to grab the students’ attention and then choose the right teaching methods. Because if not, the student only have fun and don’t receive the contents of learning.
