Assessment, Assessment, and Assessment J

Three times meeting in Peta Class, I always learned about assessment. It turns out to assess students’ assignment is uneasy.  As a teacher, we should consider how much score which suitable with effort of students to make their assignment. Many ways to assess the students such as do observation each of student in the class, oral questioning, and students’ product (project, paper and pencil, etc). When I did presentation in Senior High School, I thought my teacher would assess me was only how far I mastered the material, but it was wrong. My teacher would have some consideration (such as rubric) for assess his students, so he is not only assessing one assessment.
Mrs. Mima was explained that there are two models of instruction and assessment; Conventional Model and Standards-Based Model. Conventional Model, Teacher always moves to the next lesson without seeing the students understand or not about the previous lesson. Standards-Based Model, teacher will not move to the next lesson if the students did not understand about the previous lesson. In here teacher will try another method for make students more understand than before.
If I become a teacher, I will use Standards-Based Model for teach students. Indeed needs much time, but I think I should give time in out of the class. So my students can ask everything about their problem that related with the lesson. I hope someday I can apply it in daily life.

  1. I like your reflecction haniii...
I agree with you to give extra time for students.
I think it will be helpful for our students.
As we know that in class we can not take a long time to guided students about one material because of limited time.

  2. Good Hani,,,
It's better teachers do not move to the next matter before the students are understand with the matter .... but often times teachers must pursue the material to prepare students for the UN ... how do you think a problem like that??

    Thank You
