In PETA class yesterday I and my
friends in group learn and practice to make rubric and try using it. Rubric is
one of the guides, reference or a tool that can be used as a teacher guide to give
the assessment to the student’s assignment. Rubric which should be prepared by
teacher before making the assessment that contain with aspects to be assessed
in learning process. Of course rubric is based on learning goals and topics
have been discussed at the time. As a teacher candidate I felt is not easy to
make a rubric. A lot of things that should be considering with the learning
goals and providing objective assessment to students
As we know rubric consists of the
assessment criteria, range of scores with an objective assessment procedure. After
discussing with friends to determine the assessment procedure, I have confused
with how to distinguishing the procedure in range value 3 and 4. The problem is
to find the appropriate words to show the assessment procedure. So also when I
and my friends try to use the rubric that I have made to assess another friend
in microteaching in the front of class turned out got many weakness of our rubric.
First there are some aspects that have not been included in the assessment
criteria and my friend who assessed didn’t know the aspect of assessment in my rubric.
Whereas a good rubric is the rubric is known to the students who we assess
first. So those, students can create their assignment better according the
rubric assessment. Another that teacher become easier to providing an objective
score or feedback for students in the learning process. Therefore, rubric is
most important in the assessment, right? So those as the teacher candidate I
need to practice again to make a rubric.
Great reflection Asih,
ReplyDeleteHonestly i was confused too when i had to write some criteria for each range in my rubric.
I think that we have to read and learn more about make an rubric.
Good luck for us.
:)
I agree with your statement, namely: "Of course rubric is based on learning goals and topics have been discussed at the time".
ReplyDeleteBecause by making a rubric that is based on learning objectives and topics will allow teachers to assess objectively. This is because the rubric contains criteria for assessment in accordance with the objectives and topics of learning.
