What is rubric?

The last meeting in PETA class was a bit hard. That was my first time to make a rubric that directly used to valuate a teaching process. What we have made is a bit error in determining the description of each criterion. However, we know that to make a rubric and apply it is not as simple as such we think. We need to determine the things that we are going to valuate and the description of each scoring. That is what we learn about rubric itself.
Then, the characteristics of rubric are a bit complex. To make a rubric, we need to know what will we do with the rubric and how does the rubric work? That’s why we must compose the rubric in detail form. Every scoring is drawing about the students’ ability level. It is such as when we are marking presentation skill, we need to think over about the performance, preparation, interaction to audiences, or the used language. That is different when we are marking teaching style in micro teaching in which we need to consider about the opening, contents, connectivity, and closure. When we use rubric for micro teaching into presentation skill, the criteria of the rubric will not work as well.
That’s why, when we are going to assess the students, we need to compose a rubric by our own self. It is more suggested than we browse or imitate another rubric, because we know what we need.
