It is my third reflection about topic in PETA class, in third meeting of PETA class I learned about Model of Instruction. There are so many models of instruction such as group discussion, direct instruction, lecturer discussion and guided discovery. Mrs.Mima ask my friends and I to discuss about its in group then we share each other. I get a conclusion in my mind that each model of instruction has weakness and strengths, such as group discussion I not occurred that it can make the competition of students can be controlled, because students should be help the members of group to understand the lesson.
When I learn about direct instruction, based on my experience I think it is the most model of instruction used in teaching mathematics formula. When I teach mathematics I always feel worried, can my students understand the origin of formula deeply if I use group discussion, lecturer discussion or guided discovery? or it can be and I am just lack of creativity? I hope I can increasing my creativity then make a proof that it can be.
After discuss about model of instruction, my lecturer ask each group to do role play based on group's lesson plan then another group assess it. It is fun and important thingbecause I can know what and how my friends as a teacher apply all model of instruction to teach mathematics.
Nothing impossible na, we can do it if we want. I hope we can apply it in teaching Math. So, the students understand about the content and still fun learning. Great reflection na :D
