PLANNING FOR INSTRUCTION

By : Dyah Ayu Setyani

In this week at PETAs’ class, I learned how the teacher must have planned before they teach their student.  After PETAs’ class started, Miss Mima gave our class a video about teaching learning with the subject about THEMATIC. In the video, we know that the teacher had prepare before teach her students. She want to give understanding for her student about count, color, and family members. Actually the way of teaching and learning is so fun and I think that is effective to make students understand the material, but I think that the teacher had lost some important points in the assessment of student understanding. To assess her student, the teacher just give some questions and just point toward one student in one group. I think that the way of assessment is ineffective because the teacher cannot assess all students understanding.
From this video, I understand what the task of a teacher. Before teach my student, I must prepare everything that I need to teach like lesson plan, tools and of course the material. In the PETAs’ Class, I know about Typical Curriculum Design, that is :

And the important things that the teacher must know are the twin sins in curriculum design, they are activity-focused (hands on without minds on) and coverage approach (teach, test, and hope for the best). According to me, if the teacher want to avoid the twin sins, the teacher must make a lesson plan before. The lesson plan will help the teacher to know what will they do in class and to put in mind of the purpose of teaching and learning. Lesson plan must in order of Bloom Taxonomy to make student understanding are in a row.

Just this things that I remember about PETAs’ Class in last meeting, sorry if my reflection isn’t  complete or any words are wrong. I just try to write my reflection in English. Hohoho

Thank you for you that red my reflection. JJJ
