Can you imagine if you were a student in that picture? Just reflect in my previous experience, I have teacher who teach same like that, writing in the white board. The student only copy the notes the teacher. the teacher doesn’t care whether we as a student understands what he teaches. As the result, the teacher wrote and some of the students sleep, because the lesson is boring.
In third meeting in PETA class, I learned about model of instruction. In my opinion model of instruction is design instruction the teacher when teaching in classroom. There are many model of instruction such as, direct instruction, lecture-discussion, guide discussion and group instruction. There is many ways to us to teaching in classroom, to make active learning. We can combine the model of instruction. Not only one model but also two or more model we can use. But, don’t forget that is depend on material and your goals in that lesson. It is because not always using various method when teaching the student can understand what the teacher teach.
Ok, now we have learned about the theory of model instruction. But, don’t only understand the theory but also have to practice it when teaching in classroom later. I hope in next meeting I can get the interesting material, to be the next generation of teacher. J
