On last week, 26th of September 2011. I learn PETA course, when we learn to watch a video that contains about the process of teaching TEMATIK system. We do not just watch it but we will consider advantages and disadvantages of teaching and learning system that uses TEMATIK system.
When I watched the video, I am so reminded of my teacher at a time when junior high school, my teacher uses TEMATIK system to unify religious studies, economics, and PKN (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan). Initially, I only know that I will be studying economics and at the same time schedule was economic subjects. When class started, I really understand the lessons conveyed my teacher but :(:( ...... time to learn the more I became more confused because economic lesson is getting lost and my teacher advised students in the class relating to the issue of religion . After my teacher advises students in the class, my teacher ordered us to make a report on economic and related to everyday life. After the lesson finished, I became increasingly confused about what was learned in class earlier. Without thinking about it, I did not take the dizziness and the immediate tasks as instructed.
After I studied the course and watched the PETA video last week, I directly reflect what happens when I sit on the bench junior high school. Apparently, the learning process that uses TEMATIK system can not always be run in accordance with what is planned and of course there are some lessons that are not visible to the achievement of students that will be obtained. But on the other hand I see some of the benefits of holding of the learning process that uses TEMATIC system, namely to use the time seefesien possible in some subjects. In addition, the system also has the disadvantage that TEMATIK teachers can not access how much understanding her students in each subject.
Naaaahh, we as the next generation of teacher must be well prepared to use various learning methods. Not only that, teachers also have to be creative in delivering a wide range of knowledge to students so that students feel safe in following subjects. In addition, a teacher must have a strategy for accessing the understanding of students in each subject.
TEMATIK method will run smoothly and be fit for purpose when a teacher can observe the process and results to be obtained by the students. So teachers are not only thinking process, but must pay attention to students' results to be obtained as well. In other words "the process and outcome must be balanced”. :):)

Do you have special reason?
I think that student's understanding in TEMATIK subject it depend on the teacher creativity to make the lesson plan. How to make all of subject can be delivered well.
ReplyDeleteMay be Marya mean that teacher delivered the material may not be well understood by most students because sometimes only one subject is not always well understood, let alone more than 2 studies combined?
The most important thing is not only learning activities can be very engaging and fun but we must be considered about understanding meaningful of students.

ReplyDeleteyaa,, sometimes when a teacher uses a tematik system for 2 or 3 lessons in one time students often do not understand and do not understand what is learned at the time, like when I was junior high school, my teachers used a tematik method for 3 subjects. in one lesson, I do not understand these lessons, because not all teachers can access their students for the 3 subjects. This could be due to the limited time available....
