All about Assessment (As, Of, For)

            Assessment is an important thing in teaching learning process. There are three kind of assessment actually, assessment (as, of, and for) learning. Each kind is important and has different approach but the goal is same, to measure students understanding.

            Assessment as learning is interesting for me, in this type of assessment students must assess themselves and also their friends. Actually, I have did pair assessment when I was a student in high school.

 That’s very interesting when we have to assess my friends, but as a student I have difficulty to assess my friends because sometimes I feel uncomfortable when give my friend low score because I reflect to myself, how about if I was given low score, so the score is not valid. Then, my teacher didn’t give the rubric, so we didn’t know the aspect that we have to assess. So, I learn from that when I am to be a teacher I must give rubric to my students if they have to do pair assessment, so they will feel that assess someone is not as easy as seen.

            But, I had never doing individual assessment when I was a student in high school. My teacher never ask me to assess myself but I rethink again, if the students assess themselves, is it can to be valid.

            Assessment for learning is very nice I think because it was made by teacher and the teacher always sees the progress of students. So, it always continues and students can make strategy to make them better in any subject of learning.

            Honestly, I still confused about assessment of learning because there is different perspective in my group when we were doing last discussion.Is there any kind person who wants to be volunteer to explain to me ^^
