The goal of teaching and learning process is students can achieve
all learning objective. So, how to measure is? We should have way and tools to
measure. The way to measure is assessment. When I was in senior high school, I
thought if I become a teacher give students score is very simple. I never
thought about rubric, subjective or objective. But after I learn PETA in SSE, I
know how to become a good teacher. Such as should prepare how to assess our
students.
When we teach, we should be well
preparing. After that, we should think how to assess our students. It is not
easy. So I should start learn about how to assess our students. When, we say about
assess students. The issue is about objective or subjective. I’m confused about
objectivities and subjectivities. Because, how teachers can assess students
with 100 percent objective is? I thought As the English proverb says
"nobody’s perfect", so it is same with objectivities in assessment. When
teachers assess students, I think not 100 percent teachers can objective.
What do you think about that? I think
subjectivities is also important part in assess process. But, how many percent
from all percent assessment is? example, from 100 percent
assessment the subjectivities only 5 until 10 percent. Teachers assess students’ attitude in class, and
the students’ discipline. It is addition to assess all students score, not only
academic but also characteristic, attitude, disciple or moral. So, in addition result students not
only good in academic but also good in attitude or moral. I hope I can make fair
assessment to my students. So for assess
students’ academic I will use rubric
score. But to assess students’ attitude and moral I will use
rubric symbol like as great, good, and so on.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion about assessment as teacher to assess all students score, not only academic but also characteristic, attitude, disciple or moral. This is related with Indonesia curriculum ( kurikulum berkarakter) but, I still confused about the rubric assessment that can teacher uses to assess the ability or behavior of many students. as we know teacher in Indonesia teaching so many students more than 25 students I think. So, what do you think about the rubric assessment to assess students character in your opinion ? Thank You :)
yes nice reflection.. But why you said that subjectivities is also important part in assessing students, in fact besides cognitive aspect we also must assess the affective and psycomotor of students, so that's not mean you must be subjective but you must assess their affective and psychomotor aspect too. And I have no idea to make rubric assessment for assess students character, how it can be.. ^^
