Peta Reflection

ASSESSMENT

I reported my last meeting in PETA’s class. We had learned about some kind of assessments. Did you ever know before? In this session, I found them. We had three kinds of assessment actually. They are assessment as learning, assessment for learning, and the last is assessment of learning. What are them? Give me a chance to tell you what I knew.

First is assessment as learning. Its’ relate with student learning process. In the teaching and learning process, students can assess them self or their pair. I think that its’ like reflection about how far they know what they learned. And then they could improve their knowledge by them self. Its’ will be nice for them because they learn based on their experience.

Second is assessment for learning. I think that its’ can be guided for the teacher to make their strategy better in every teaching and learning process. So teachers must make sure them self to know about student understanding before their continuing the lesson.

Third is assessment of learning. This assessment actually must relate with standard of curriculum so the teacher must make some teaching and learning strategies to fill the standard completely. I think that it will relate with school report card that will given to the parents of student in the last semester. So teacher must save all data from every teaching and learning process to make a report.

I conclude that assessments as and for learning are used during teaching and learning process but assessment of learning is used in the last teaching and learning process. And just make sure, these assessments related to one another. We cannot just use one or two of this but we must use all of this kind of assessments.
