In PETA class I learned about assessment. It turns out assessment can be as
learning, for learning and of learning. My lecturer asked my friends and I to
learn in group about assessment and do one games about the differences of
assessment as, for and of learning. Actually, I don’t know yet is my
understanding about assessment as learning, for learning and of learning right
or wrong because my lecturer didn’t give any strength yet, maybe in the next
meeting.
Overall, now I know that assessment not only need any instruments but also
need a goal. Teacher should be known what is the goal when do assessment, such
as to give any feedback for students so they can be better or anything else.
In the other hand, after learn about assessment I think assessment has a
role for teachers’ and students’ teaching and learning process. Teacher can use
assessment as a tool to know is her/his teaching method effective or not, then
to know who students not interest with active learning, and which is the best
method to teach.
Assessment also can make students do reflection how to become better than before,
then students will know how to give and be the best in learn if teacher give
understanding for students that the result of assessment is not for judge
students is smart or stupid but for students’ reflection.
