The Sustainability of Assessment

Ouch… that was the last meeting before having a long holiday. Assessment is the last topic for this year for PETA class. Perhaps, I still get some confusing when differentiating among assessment as, for, and of learning. However, last meeting has given me a clear example of assessment. How we use assessment in the class will affect to the students learning intention and learning attractiveness. There are so many assessment that we can apply to the class. There are presentations, making poster, making products, role-play, practicum etc. The things where teachers should concern on are how they combine the assessments adequately. That is not easy, but as “hearth full” teachers, we should be able.
Actually, I was interested on the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective assessment. However, I get hurt when after we get those results but they can be used for enrolling university. Should we arrange a new strategy for entering the new students of university through a better assessment not only paper and pencil test or based on high school rapport? Is it possible to hold assessments like SSE does to grab new students using stages?
Now, I am going to concern on what we should do for assessing students to know their ability and to know how they improve their ability.
