One year we did not meet
each other, of course with PETA class. What do you say to your
friends? Say hello, hi or how are you? How
if in PETA class you got a
question do
you still remember
what we learned in the
last meeting PETA class? Actually, two weeks is a long time. So, do you still remember with the
material? We should
still remember, right?
One of activity in last meeting PETA course
before New Year holiday we discussed
about tools of formative assessment in group such as anecdotal records, checklists, rating
scales, portfolio, etc. But we have not shared to each other. So, when we meet again we review about that material. Actually I interest about
rating scales. When Wirman said that rating scale not fair and can make decrease
students motivation to get perfect score because they are just need to get the standard
score. Yes sometime and some students think like that and that is one of the weakness
rating scales. But as student I think we do not think like that. We learn for get the knowledge not to
get the standard or high score. So whatever pettern of assessment we must try to do the best.
After we reviewed and discussed about tools formative
assessment we discussed
about rubric. Like we know rubric can we use to assess students objectively not
subjectively.
One of activity in our last meeting is make a rubric. Actually not easy to make
rubric although make it in group,
but I still confused to make characteristics of criteria. I think everyone can
not directly make a perfect something like rubric, but I believe occationaly we
practice it
can make our skill increase.
So,
if we have a good rubric that can
assess objective correctly it can make easy to give score or result for our students.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you we have o change students' perception about score. The important one is not score but knowledge, but how to reach it? any idea?
