RUBRIC

Last meeting we have learned about rubric. What is rubric? In my opinion rubric is like guidance for teacher to easier to assess students work. In a rubric, usually there are many columns. Usually there are column for criteria, point, total score and categories. Rubric developed to help teachers become objective when assess their students.
Rubric is effective and easy to use when we want to assess open-ended question. However, it is not effective to assess multiple-choice question. In open-ended question, usually students write different way to solve the problem. Sometimes teacher confuse to assess them, with use rubric teachers will be easier to assess. Teachers can look which criteria students have achieved.
Rubric is easy to use but actually hard to make a good rubric. Last week, Mrs.Mima asked my friends and I to make a rubric of microteaching and then implement our rubric to assess my friend’s performance. When Novi,Siluth and I make rubric, we think that our rubric is good enough but when we try to use it, we totally confuse to give score to my friends.
After we use our rubric to assess our friend’s performance, we have to make a reflection about our rubric. We think that actually we still confused to make criteria for each range (1,2,3 and 4). I think that I have to read more about the example of rubric and pay attention on how the other make criteria for each range of their rubric.

  1. Nice Woro! :D

You said that it's good to use rubric for assessing open-ended question, isn't it?
How if you had a big class (let say 40 students), if you assess their essay answer by the rubric, it will take a lot of times, won't it? Did you considered it? So? What do you think Woro?

    Thanks :D
